We're Launching Unified Markets for 40+ Tokenized U.S. Stocks and ETFs

Tomorrow, we start rolling out more than 40 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs to OKX. Customers across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the CIS region, MENA and Türkiye can trade names like Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100, all from the same OKX account they already use for crypto. Markets trade around the clock against USDT, making it easy to access U.S. equities alongside digital assets.

We’re the first global exchange to build a single market for multiple tokenized stocks. Whether you’re trading Apple, NVIDIA or Tesla, you trade one market, not a specific issuer’s version of that stock.

Today, most exchanges create separate markets for different tokenized versions of the same stock, fragmenting liquidity across multiple products. We take a different approach. As new issuers come online, they add liquidity to the same order book instead of creating competing markets. The result is deeper liquidity, better execution and a simpler trading experience.

Tokenized real-world assets are one of the fastest-growing areas of digital assets, but they’re still in the early stages of market development. As more institutions begin issuing tokenized stocks, simply listing every version separately would create an increasingly fragmented market.

Instead, we standardize how different issuers map to a single market for each stock. Today, that market is backed by xStocks from Backed Assets, with every token backed 1:1 by shares held in custody on the issuer’s behalf. As additional issuers are supported, they’ll strengthen the same market rather than create another version of the same asset. That’s better for traders, better for issuers and better for liquidity.

At launch, customers can trade more than 40 U.S. stocks and ETFs, including:

• Indices and ETFs: S&P 500 (XSPY) and Invesco QQQ (XQQQ)

• Semiconductors: Micron (XMU), SanDisk (XSNDK), Marvell (XMRVL), Intel (XINTC) and AMD (XAMD)

• Crypto and fintech: Circle (XCRCL), Strategy (XMSTR), Coinbase (XCOIN) and Robinhood (XHOOD)

Tokenized stocks on OKX trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so customers can respond to market-moving news whenever it happens. When U.S. markets are closed on weekends, pricing is based on the latest market close together with fair value estimates.

When companies pay dividends, the value is automatically reinvested at the issuer level and reflected as an increase in your share balance on OKX.

As more issuers and more tokenized assets come online, we believe customers shouldn’t have to choose between competing versions of the same stock. They should simply trade the asset they want, while liquidity comes together in one market.
